FATTÂHIYYAH – فتاحية
Being Fattâh. The opening up a suitable shape and giving of a form to everything. The attribute, the title and the haqiqah which arise from the Name Al-Fattâh.
“the Haqiqah of Fattâhiyyah
That is, the opening up from a single simple substance of innumerable varied and separate forms, together, everywhere, in a single instant and by a single deed, through the manifestation of the Name of Fattâh. Yes, in the same way, that Qoudrah of Fâtir has opened up and gave a proper, orderly form and distinct identity to each of the innumerable beings like flowers in the garden of the universe, through the manifestation of the Name of Fattâh, so too, although in more miraculous fashion, he has given to the four hundred thousand species of animate beings in the garden of the earth each its symmetrical, adorned and distinct form.
يَخْلُقُكُمْ فِى بُطُونِ اُمَّهَاتِكُمْ خَلْقًا مِنْ بَعْدِ خَلْقٍ فِى ظُلُمَاتٍ ثَلاَثٍ ذلِكُمُ اللّٰهُ رَبُّكُمْ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ لاَ اِلهَ اِلاَّ هُوَ فَاَنَّا تُصْرَفُونَ
اِنَّ اللّهَ لاَ يَخْفَى عَلَيْهِ شَيْءٌ فِى اْلاَرْضِ وَلاَ فِى السَّمَاءِ هُوَ الَّذِى يُصَوِّرُكُمْ فِى اْلاَرْحَامِ كَيْفَ يَشَاءُ لاَ اِلهَ اِلاَّ هُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ1
As these two âyahs indicate, the strongest proof of Tawhîd and the most amazing miracle of Qoudrah is opening up of forms. Because the haqiqah of the opening of forms is repeatedly established and expounded in different ways elsewhere in the Risale-i Nur, and particularly in the Sixth and Seventh Degrees of the First Chapter of the Second Station of this risale, we refer the discussion of this matter to those places and restrict ourselves here to the following:
According to the testimony of botany and biology, based on profound research, there is in the opening of forms, such all-embracing, comprehensiveness and art that other than a single Wâhid Al-Ahad, One Absolutely Qadîr, able to see and do all things in all things, nothing could undertake this comprehensive and all-embracing act. For this act of the opening of forms demands a hikmah, an attention and a comprehensiveness that are present everywhere and at all times and are contained within an infinite Qoudrah. And such a Qoudrah can be found only in the One Who administers the whole universe.
As is decreed in the above-quoted âyahs, fattâhiyyah which is the opening and creating of the forms of men from their mother's wombs, within three darknesses, separately, with equilibrium, distinctness, adornment and order, also without any error, confusion, or mistake from a simple material and the haqiqah of the opening of the forms which is embracing all men, animals and plants, all over the earth, with the same Qoudrah, the same hikmah and the same art, is a most powerful proof of Wahdâniyyah. For comprehending and embracing is a wahdah that leaves no room for the shirk. Just as the nineteen haqiqahs of the First Chapter bearing witness to the necessary existence of Allah also attest the existence of Al-Khâliq through their own existence, so too they bear witness to wahdah through their comprehending and embracing.” The Rays (189-190 )
