JANNAH - جَنَّة


Literally: A garden. A park. A meadow. An orchard or vineyard. Paradise.

The place of eternal happiness that mu’mins will stay eternally.


The degrees of Jannah:

1-دَارُ السَّلاَم  Dâr us-salâm  (Qur’an 6:127) (Qur’an 10:25)

2-جَنَّاتُ الْمَاْوٰى Jannah al-Ma’wâ (Qur’an 32:19) (Qur’an 53:15) (Qur’an 79:41)

3-جَنَّةُ الْخُلْد Jannah al-Khuld  (Qur’an 25:15)

4-جَنَّةِ النَّع۪يمِ Jannah an-Na‘im (Qur’an 26:85) (Qur’an 56:89) (Qur’an 70:38)

5-جَنَّاتُ الْفِرْدَوْسِ Jannah al-Firdaws (Qur’an 18:107) (Qur’an 23:11)

6-جَنَّاتِ عَدْن Jannah al-‘Adn (Qur’an 9:72) (Qur’an 13:23)

7-جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَة Jannah ‘Âliyah (Qur’an 69:22) (Qur’an 88:10)

8-Jannah ul-wasîlah (ma’na al-isharî of the âyah Qur’an 5:35)

Other than these names there are different expressions for Jannah in Al-Qur’an Al-Hakîm like the following:

-Dâr al-ghurafa الْجَنَّةِ غُرَفًا The pavilions of Jannah. High places of Jannah. (Qur’an 29:58)(Qur’an 25:75).

-Dâr al-amîn  مَقَامٍ اَم۪ينٍ As the meaning Dâr us-salâm, safe and innocuous place. (Qur’an 44:51).

-Dâr al-muqamah دَارَ الْمُقَامَة Place of residence, homeland. (Qur’an 35:35).

-Dâr al-qarâr دَارُ الْقَرَارِ The place without any transformation and decomposition. (Qur’an 40:39).
