JANNAH - جَنَّة

 

Literally: A garden, a park, a meadow, an orchard, or a vineyard. Paradise.

The place of eternal happiness where mu’mins will stay for eternity.

 

The degrees of Jannah:

1-دَارُ السَّلاَم  Dâr us-salâm  (6:127) (10:25)

2-جَنَّاتُ الْمَاْوٰى Jannah al-Ma’wâ (32:19) (53:15) (79:41)

3-جَنَّةُ الْخُلْد Jannah al-Khuld  (25:15)

4-جَنَّةِ النَّع۪يمِ Jannah an-Na‘im (26:85) (56:89) (70:38)

5-جَنَّاتُ الْفِرْدَوْسِ Jannah al-Firdaws (18:107) (23:11)

6-جَنَّاتِ عَدْن Jannah al-‘Adn (9:72) (13:23)

7-جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَة Jannah ‘Âliyah (69:22) (88:10)

8-Jannah ul-wasîlah (ma’na al-isharî of the âyah 5:35)

Beyond these titles, the Qur’an uses a variety of terms to refer to Jannah, including the following:

-Dâr al-ghurafa الْجَنَّةِ غُرَفًا The pavilions of Jannah. High places of Jannah. (29:58)(25:75).

-Dâr al-amîn  مَقَامٍ اَم۪ينٍ As the meaning Dâr us-salâm, safe and innocuous place. (44:51).

-Dâr al-muqamah دَارَ الْمُقَامَة Place of residence, homeland. (35:35).

-Dâr al-qarâr دَارُ الْقَرَارِ The place without any transformation and decomposition. (40:39).
