To the President of the Republic and Prime Minister:
…
The idea of racism caused great danger during the Umayyad period, and in the early period of the Freedom1, the harmful effects of racism under the guise of "clubs" were witnessed. During the First World War, by using racism, the harm done to the mujâhid Turks by the blessed Arab brothers was also seen. There are now signs that it can be employed against the brotherhood of Islam and by using that racism once again, the covert irreligious people, who are the enemies of public peace, are working to cause grievous harm. However, the nature and characteristics of racism are offensive actions and being nurtured with the destruction of others. First and foremost, the Turk nation are Muslims throughout the world, and their nationalism has been fused with Islam; their race and Islam are inseparable from one another. Being a Turk means being a Muslim. As evidence, it can be said that Turks, who were not Muslim, also abandoned Turkish nationality. Like the Turks, in the Arabs, the Arab nationality and being Arab has also been fused with Islam, and it must be in this way. Their true nationhood is Islam. That is sufficient.
Racism is an absolutely perilous danger. Your recent valuable unity with Iraq and Pakistan will, InshâAllah, repel the harm of this dangerous racism. Since I believe with all my rûh, I declare to you that for the people of this land, for this country, this unity will be a perfect means of gaining four hundred million Muslim brothers instead of the four or five million racists and the friendship of eight hundred million Christians and people of other faiths, who are most in need of peace and public security.
