NÛR – نور
Literally: Luminous. Gleam. The opposite of any kind of darkness. Light. A source and centre of the light.
Al-Qur’an Al-Hakîm. Îmân. Islam. The Prophet. The light, flame that defeats the darkness. Knowing haqq at the degree of yaqîn. Ma’rifat. Haqiqah. The proofs of îmân.
There are two kinds of nûr: One is worldly and the other relates to the âkhirah.
The first is the objects like the sun, moon, stars which can be sensed by sight.
The second is the nûr dispersed from Ilahî nûrs. Like the mind and nûr of Qur’an.
